I need to change some variables to slow the decay of the spray and mess with the shape/timing. I may change the animation a bit as well, but that will have to wait until I set up the rest of the scene. The camera shake also needs to be fixed.
It took a while to figure out how to get the fire and smoke to move with the ship.
This is an early iteration of a scene that I hope to have in my final animation. I want to add some more landscape elements in the distance (mountains and trees). Right now the ship just kind of goes up and away but in the final version it will move straight for a longer distance before curving up and either behind a mountain or through a valley. I'm still changing things with the ocean to make the displacement look better and the fire will need some minor adjustments as well, maybe a longer smoke trail. Overall, I'm happy with these results so far but think that I can use all of the tools and tricks I've learned to make a better scene that takes less time to render.
Now that I have this at a spot I'd consider to be somewhat okay, I can divert my attention back to geometry nodes and the other landscapes while I continue working on the character design and ship interior.
