Recreating My Heroes - Thesis Project Part 1: The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers

First model was much too large. This was originally just going to be a fun sculpting exercise while I was figuring out exactly what I was going to do for other character designs. So, I didn't consider starting with a realistic base.

The second model. I created the underlying costume in Marvelous Designer on top of a standard mannequin. It wasn't quite right, but it was generally consistent with a realistic adult male.

This was the third base I used, but its proportions were also wrong. Too tall and lean. I still used the opportunity to warp the armor to fit onto this model.

This is the armor and updated undersuit (more in the next update on that) showing the proportions of the model I created using known and estimated proportions of David Yost, the Blue Ranger. The drawn lines are tracings of the reference images.

My general reference sheet for overall shape, proportion, and orientation of each armor piece. These images were taken during test-fittings for the original movie production. Blue was the only one that retained visible detail in each image.
