Perseus - Front View
With his Winged Sandals and Helm of Invisibility. I also opted to give him a small cloak/cape rather than the Kibisis. So that he could use it to carry Medusa's head in its place.
Perseus - Front View with heads and helmets. For the Cap of Invisibility, most depictions being that of a Phrygian Cap, I opted to go for something different. I went with a simple take on a Chalcidian helm with a small crest on top.
The Harpe is generally described as being a sickle. It is the same as the weapon Kronos used to depose and castrate Ouranos. Most later artistic representations of the Harpe are more sword than sickle. I wanted to retain the hooked sickle shape.

A Hellenistic soldier.
Acrisius, Polydectes, and Soldier faces. Corinthian and Attic style helms. Bronze Cuirass and greaves as well as Linothrax armor. The arms and armor are from different periods but I felt they might keep things visually distinct between settings.
Continuing on the asset creation for this animation, I spent much of my time digging through resources on pottery from Ancient Greece. Between some books in the Mansfield Library and a wealth of images from different museums, I was able to put together a sizable catalog of reference images of pottery as well as ancient arms and armor. Using these references, I continued designing costumes and props for characters from the beginning of the story. Since much of the middle and late story are mostly centered around Perseus and his interactions with unique characters like the Gorgons, the Grae, Cetus, and Andromeda. I felt that it would be best to create soldiers for the background and the scenes at the beginning which take place in Argos and Seriphos.
